Consumer First Research & Development | Digital Drive with Dr. LaTonya Kilpatrick-Liverman, Colgate

by | Jul 8, 2021

When most people think of Colgate… typically a toothpaste tub or teeth brushing campaign comes to mind. At their core, Colgate is truly focused on leading innovation within the healthcare industry as a whole. Deodorants, shampoo, conditioner, and soaps for cleaning of all kinds round out the product portfolio. I recently had the privilege to partner closely with Colgate and I sat down with Dr. LaTonya Kilpatrick-Liverman to discuss how she is driving innovation for oral health. Dr. LaTonya leads the BioSolutions and Clinical Methods group at Colgate-Palmolive. She and her Team are responsible for developing translational models, identifying health and disease-associated biomarkers, and developing new clinical methods to better measure changes in the skin and oral cavity. Dr. LaTonya has over 25 years of experience conducting research in skin and oral biology. She is the author of several patents, book chapters, and journal articles, and has served on the Editorial Advisory Board of the International Journal of Cosmetic Science, the Chemistry and Chemical Biology Industrial Advisory Board at Rutgers University, and on the Biomaterials Symposium Advisory Board at Rutgers University. On a personal note, Dr. LaTonya feels strongly about exposing kids to science early on. She has volunteered in a number of education-based outreach programs sponsored by Colgate-Palmolive, the American Chemical Society, and various community groups. She finds joy in leveraging every opportunity to give back and share her experiences! Check out the Hum Toothbrush we referenced! https://hum.colgate.com/
